Meet the Wolfpack

Chris Hammelev has enjoyed being a hygienist for over 32 years, but has also been a very successful treatment coordinator as well as office manager. She is a member of the ADHA, AOSH, and ALD. Chris has lead outstanding hygiene teams across the country for the last 19 years and has created custom periodontal programs for each of her offices. These programs give the patients the treatment they need, while greatly increasing profits for the office. She has shown her teams on co-diagnosis and communication skills resulting in extraordinary productivity in the doctor’s schedule.

Her vast experience within private practice allows her to manage teams and demonstrate to them how to establish  and maintain patient relationships, improve staff communication and accountability, utilize systems and protocols, create and achieve goals, and ultimately attain the practice vision.

Marissa has been in dentistry for over 20 years.

Utilizing her clinical knowledge and leadership skills, she earned a position as a regional trainer and eventually a regional manager for a large dental service organization. This eventually led her to being a dental consultant for general and specialty practices all over the country.

As a Certified Strategic Intervention Life Coach, Marissa values the needs of her clients first. She is able to connect with the entire team utilizing her knowledge of the clinical and administrative areas of an office to implement strategies that will create an environment ideal for growth. She truly prides herself on helping her clients develop a goal that will be sustainable and rewarding.

She has worked with many dentists, specialists, and teams both corporate and private over the years. Having led teams in corporate and private practice, Marissa found that her clients truly needed help managing their practices; which led to the creation of The Dental Practice Management Agency. She feels truly blessed to find her passion for managing, and mentoring in a field that she loves.

Alishia is originally from Richmond, Virginia but moved to Denver just before she finished high school. Alisha has been in the dental field for over 20 years. Her love and passion for patient education, care and attention to detail, help her train teams all over the country. Alishia has worked in dentistry both as a dental assistant and an insurance coordinator, and her ability to adapt to any situation makes her a fantastic asset to our clients. When not taking care of others at work, Alishia enjoys traveling, spending time with her two children, and watching them excel in school and sports.

Josalyn, is an EDDA with over 25 years’ experience in Dental Assisting. She is a Clinical Manager of a large private practice which made her the perfect choice for Director of Dental Assisting for The Dental Practice Management Agency. She is passionate in providing excellent dentistry utilizing her skills, knowledge, and common-sense approach to lead a team of 14 Clinicians and 6 Treatment Coordinators. When she is not in the trenches of clinical dentistry, Josalyn can be found coaching dental assistants how to be their best at their skills, creating systems and organization for success.

Her skills and ability to learn have allowed her to assist in many specialties alongside outstanding dentists/mentors. The Specialties include Endodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry, Pankey Institute, Spear, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics, Dental Implants and General Restorative. She prides herself on the fact that she continues to learn every day to provide the best dentistry and help grow my team members.

Josalyn enjoys “Glamping”, hosting family and friends for cook-outs and vacationing in Mexico. She is a wife, mom of 2 adult children and 2 dogs Willie and Waylon.

Tessa is a leadership-driven dental professional with a passion for building strong teams and creating efficient, people-focused practices. With a background in operations and a deep understanding of dental office workflows, she has led teams through periods of growth, transition, and change with clarity and confidence. Tessa excels at identifying team dynamics, strengthening communication, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.

Her approach to leadership is hands-on and empathetic—centered around intentional training, mentorship, and clear expectations. Tessa has successfully coached staff through process improvements, new system rollouts, and evolving patient care standards. She believes that when a team feels supported and aligned, productivity and patient satisfaction naturally follow. Her ability to navigate both the human and operational sides of a practice makes her a trusted leader in any dental setting.

A proud boy mom of two, Tessa has called Colorado home for over 30 years. Her leadership style reflects her values—grounded, adaptable, and purpose-driven—always working to create spaces where teams can thrive and deliver outstanding care.

Emma has grown up in dentistry. She learned to alphabetize while helping her mom out pulling and filing paper charts at the young age of 5. She has a “get er’ done” attitude that earned her the place of our “doer” here at TDPMA. Whether it be the brain behind the monthly client reports, the fun behind the monthly “special days” email, or just her whimsy in doing all the things that have to be done, Emma can be found always making the task more fun! When she isn’t herding us cats, she is enjoying life with her Fiancé, Alex and her husky, Korra.

Janet began her career in dentistry in 2012 as an oral surgery assistant, gaining valuable clinical experience early on. Transitioning from clinical work to administrative roles, she advanced to front desk scheduling coordinator and then served as an office manager for five years, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.

Her dedication to dentistry extends beyond the office, having traveled twice to Asia to provide free dental care to children in need while embracing diverse cultures and perspectives. These experiences have enriched her compassionate approach and cultural sensitivity to patient care.

She brings a unique blend of hands-on expertise, management acumen, and global awareness to the dental team. Committed to fostering a collaborative, efficient, and patient-centered environment, she plays a vital role in supporting doctors and team members to deliver exceptional care and innovative solutions.
